2020 In Review, Bonus Entry
Moving FWDS
“You didn’t think you could get away that easily, did you?” 😉
Turns out, I forgot to put a “Top (xx) Singles Of 2020” list online for all of the people who don’t like listening to whole albums…
Well, rather than simply divulging a list, I can just play them for you instead, right?
Confession time: I happen to suffer quite embarrassingly from something that is all too commonly associated with music fans on the Internet…
FWDS, or Frustrated Wannabe DJ Syndrome.
Typically, flare-ups of this disorder occur via a heady conflation of musical appreciation and social awkwardness via that fabled enabling catalyst called alcohol (or whatever other hubris enhancer tickles your particular pickle), though as 2020 has proved, intimidating prospects of imminent end-times can ignite the anxiety to an exceptional degree also.
And like many others who have habitually abused their coping mechanisms when dealing with situations beyond their control to the point of disconcerting worry this year, I overindulged to a highly questionable degree, a fact of which my Mixcloud account can certainly provide ample proof.
I make mention of all this because, for my trouble, I have curated six hour-long mixes featuring my preferred standout music moments from the past twelve months as part of my final signing off for the year 2020; an earnest attempt to capture different moods offered by this most batshit of solar revolutions via the more exemplary material released this year; so, without further ado, here are…
FWD//2020, Pts 1 – 6
“We Move, We Groove” Mix
“Say What You Really Mean” Mix
“What Is Native?” Mix
“Let The Light Shine In” Mix
“We Can’t Go On” Mix
“Just Let It Go” Mix
Please feel free to have a listen and let me know what you think
And that really is the proverbial that!
Until 2021, stay safe and keep well… for really-realz, this time!

(P.S. My Actual Favourite Song Of 2020 is “Delete Forever” by Grimes, because what other song sums up this year better, eh?)
